Fernando Lewis de Mattos (Porto Alegre, November 12, 1963 - Porto Alegre, November 4, 2018) was a Brazilian composer, arranger, teacher and music scholar.
He studied music at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, joined its faculty in 1987 and later obtained a master's degree in 1997 with the dissertation A Salamanca do Jarau by Luiz Cosme: Musical Analysis and History of Critical Reception, obtaining maximum grade. His doctoral thesis also focused on the production of Luiz Cosme, entitled Aesthetics and Music in the Work of Luiz Cosme.
